The Summit will be a half-day event in September 2015 for 250+ East Bay manufacturers, elected officials and public policymakers, and other partners. The event will consist of keynote addresses by prominent East Bay manufacturers and a legistive panel discussion with policymakers from federal, state, and local levels.
The East Bay Manufacturing Summit will:
Raise the profile of manufacturing among elected officials and public policy makers; Build momentum for manufacturers to open their doors for National Manufacturing Day; Attract media attention that raises the profile of manufacturing as a viable career path. The Summit will precede and build anticipation in the East Bay for National Manufacturing Day on October 2, 2015, when thousands of manufacturers in the US showcase the products they manufacture, the jobs they offer, and the benefits they provide to the community. The Summit organizing team will encourage manufacturers to host an event in October for National Manufacturing Day, and will promote those opportunities to East Bay school districts and other partners.
This event will get people excited about manufacturing in the East Bay, so that public policy makers will support manufacturing, the media will tell the story about East Bay manufacturing, and parents and teachers will recommend their best and brightest youth and students for careers in manufacturing.
