Background

The East Bay Advanced Manufacturing Partnership was founded in 2014 to be a vehicle for East Bay manufacturers to set priorities and work with a range of partner organizations at a single table to strengthen manufacturing, build awareness of jobs and salaries throughout the East Bay. The founding companies included: Bishop-Wisecarver, C&H Sugar, DOW Chemical, Inland Metal Technologies, Plastikon, Scandic, Shell Oil, SMTC, Tesla, and USS-POSCO.

The Partnership  is supported by 10 community colleges, 5 workforce investment boards, University of California - Berkeley, California State University - East Bay, Manex, East Bay Economic Development Alliance, East Bay Manufacturing Group, East Bay Leadership Council, Contra Costa Economic Partnership, Innovation Tri-Valley, 101MFG, Biomedical Manufacturing Network, East Bay cities and chambers of commerce, K-12 & Community College Career Pathway Programs, and other partners. It is funded by a Department of Labor grant to the East Bay along with leveraged state and local funding.
